Mobility And Assembly

When you’ve purchased your new SawStop PCS175-TGP235 Table Saw, you’ll notice it arrives upon your doorstep in several different boxes.

Don’t be alarmed – from these boxes the table saw is easy to assemble.
If you’re new to assembling items or haven’t put a table saw together before, SawStop has included an easy-to-follow instruction guide, complete with color coding and separate packages.
Once assembled, you’ll notice how heavy your new table saw is, weighing in at 317lbs.

Normally, you’d be expected to set and forget your table saw due to the size, however, this is not the case with this model from SawStop.

The PCS175-TGP235 includes a professional integrated mobile base.

The Professional Integrated Mobile Base has two fixed wheels, two 360 degree casters, and a supportive one-foot operation which elevates the saw in a swift motion mechanically.
Perfect for long hours spent woodworking, and another safety point for SawStop.

Blade and Power

There are choices between the 1.75HP and 3HP with the two models available. Both of these models are 60Hz – which allows for the table saw to be plugged in almost anywhere.

With these models, the blade is 10” in diameter, and is tilted to the left. This left tilt is important for the emergency braking system and also protects the fence from any wood which may bind against it.

Both models are compatible with 8” dado sets, and also your standard 10” blades

What Sets It Apart From The Competition

Safety Features

What price do you put on safety?

We’ve spoken earlier about the history of SawStop and their patented safety design.

With the PCS175-TGP236, the history remains, and is modernized in the form of an electronic safety system.

If you’re new to SawStop, we’ll break it down this way – if any part of your body, let’s say your fingers – touch the blade, it will know.

An electronic signal is sent through the blade, which can spot the difference between both skin and wood.

Should the signal detect skin instead, a brake will stop the blade in milliseconds (3 to 5, to be exact).

A spring pushes the brake pawl (a block of aluminum) into the blade’s teeth, stopping the spin. After this, the blade then drops into the enclosed cabinet.

All within the timeframe of 3-5 milliseconds.

Many customers have praised this safety feature – which can often result in a damaged blade which needs replacing.

In the long run, would you rather replace a blade, or have no fingers?

I think that might be an easy choice.

Dust Free With 99% Dust Collection.

It’s no secret that woodworking can be messy at the best of times.

Thankfully, SawStop also has an answer to the messy workers, with a 99% dust collection both above and below the table.

SawStop have identified the dangers sawdust can do when inhaled – with the dust being a leading cancer-causing carcinogen.

If you opt for the 3HP model, this is inclusive of a dust-collection blade guard.
An Overarm Dust Collection Accessory is also available.

T-Glide Fence System

This table saw included a T-Glide Fence System, measuring in at 36”.

There are two alternatives, the 26” and 52” fences – which can easily be modified in place of the 36”.The T-Glide Fence System is made of thick gauge steel of the highest quality. Due to the premier fence system, your operations will be smooth.

You’ll have the ability to work on an expanded surface, perfect for projects of all sized. Precision measurement provides accurate woodworking – whether you are an amateur or a seasoned professional.

My Recommendation

A powerful addition to any woodworkers’ setup, the PCS175-TGP236 provides accurate and precise cuts without forgetting the importance of safety.

Ergonomically, this table saw is perfect – with the ability to elevate, preventing any future issues you may face from continuously working on your projects.

Its’ ability to move with two fixed wheels proves that the size of this table saw does not affect the mobility, with woodworkers able to move this at will.

With extendable wings, the PC175-TGP236 allows for more room to work with. A 10” blade is able to be interchanged with 8” dado sets and standard 10” blades.

And of course – the safety features.

SawStop’s famous safety design prevents any nasty injuries from occurring, within the space of 3-5 milliseconds, to keep both the hobbyists and industry professionals working on what they love to do.

With high-quality specs and features considered, plus the wide range of accessories which can be interchanged, there are no other table saws in the market which come close.

If you’re looking to take your woodworking to the next level which also focuses upon safety- look no further than the SawStop PCS175-TGP236.
